What’s the Most Important Meal of the Day?

The most important meal of your day is…BREAKFAST!
For those of you who don’t have time to eat or just don’t feel like it, snap out of it. Breakfast is not optional. Have you ever wondered why your body stores so much fat? Have you ever wondered why you don’t weigh what you’d like to? Start your day with a sensible breakfast to feed your metabolism and get energized!
Don’t stop there…continue to feed your metabolism.
Your metabolism is the process that converts the fuel from the foods you eat into the energy your body needs to do everything you do. If your metabolism is “slow”, your body takes more time to burn calories and if your metabolism is “fast”, your body will burn calories quicker. Burning calories quicker means gaining weight would be more difficult and losing weight will be easier.
Think of your metabolism as a fire. When you wake up in the morning, you need to “kick-start the fire” (get the metabolism going…even though it was working slowly while you slept). By eating breakfast you are putting logs onto your fire. If you don’t add more logs throughout the day, the fire gets weaker (your metabolism slows down). If you have a healthy snack mid-morning, you’re adding logs to the fire to keep it burning strong. When you have a quality lunch, you’re adding more logs to your fire to keep it strong. If you have a healthy mid-afternoon snack, you’re adding more logs to your fire to keep it strong. When you have a sensible dinner, you’re adding more logs to your fire to keep it strong. Keeping that fire burning consistently throughout your day allows your body to burn calories consistently and also allows it to continue throughout your sleep!
Your challenge: Try eating many small meals throughout your day (as explained above), rather than just 1-3 big ones. This will help keep your “fire” burning consistently and in turn burn more calories while you sleep or just hang out. Add proper exercise to your day and you could be shedding the pounds in no time!
