In this episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast, we talk with Representative Jeremy Gray all about football, leadership, and making change. Jeremy is shaking things up in Alabama being a young rep after exiting the CFL. He is making a change for good across the state but also in his own backyard. You’ll hear about how he uses his sports experience and newly found leadership skills to build a community centre to help Opelika children learn and grow in a way they otherwise would not be able to. 

Jeremy Gray, better known in the community as Mr. EYG for continuous service to elevate his community and those around him. He is an African American politician, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a former professional athlete.

Rep. Gray is currently the Alabama State Representative of the 83rd District, where he serves on the Commerce and Small Business, Health, and Public Safety and Homeland Security committees. He was voted in by his peers as Minority-Whip, and he was appointed to the Alabama Statewide Health Coordinating Council and Innovate Alabama by Governor Ivey.

Rep. Gray was recently nominated and selected to join the NewDEAL (Developing Exceptional American Leaders). Witty and innovative at heart, Rep. Gray is also the founder of Elevate Your Grind (EYG), Inc., a motivational and clothing brand as well The Curtis House, a nonprofit organization which serves as a resource hub in one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods in his hometown of Opelika, AL.

Rep. Gray is also a current student at Auburn University with the College of Business pursuing his Executive MBA degree. He has sponsored legislation this year that would allow yoga into public schools, provide matching funds for high-risk high reward tech startups, {AND is a part of many more projects to make Alabama state inclusive for everyone} attract electric bike companies into Alabama, prohibit straight-party voting, make the expungement process easier for those who are seeking a second chance in life, and require schools to provide water stations as well as clean filtered water.

Rep. Gray is committed to making Alabama a state inclusive for everyone. Jeremy Gray has received numerous accolades for his community service and leadership. When asked what his ultimate goal is in life, he simply stated “to inspire.”
