In today’s episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast we talk to Arshad Bahl, father of three and founder of Amrita Health Foods. We are so grateful that there are people like Arshad who are willing to talk about their personal family experience. Arshad’s middle child was diagnosed with Autism when he was just 2 ½ years old. Arshad shares with us the challenges and celebrations of taking “alternative” methods for helping his son cope with and overcome this medical condition. Research, trial and error along with support led Arshad and his wife to really allow diet to play a huge part in their son’s therapy. He offers wisdom to any family embarking on this hard yet powerful journey.

Arshad is no stranger to success. He left his lucrative position in a big company to follow his heart. He wanted to make a difference in the world by making allergen-free food that would help his son thrive. Arshad wanted to create a brand that he could be proud of and use himself as an athlete. Arshad talks to us about the decisions he’s made along the way, as well as the integrity and growth of Amrita Health Foods.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Arshad’s story
  • What is Autism
  • Autism and the gut
  • Tips for dealing with behaviour
  • The Autism diet
  • Animal products and Autism
  • Gluten and Autism
  • Other alternative therapies
