In this episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast, we talk myth busting with Dr. Matt about some of the hottest topics in nutrition and find out whether they are myths or truths and why. He is a lot of fun, and after he shares his journey into a plant-based lifestyle, we hit all the hot points: is gluten-free a good thing, does soy cause infertility and will white potatoes make you fat? You may want to take notes on this one so you can walk around with crib sheets for when your friends boldly state nutrition myths. Hopefully, you will have a better understanding of how to navigate nutrition when this podcast is done so stay tuned to the very end.
Dr. Matt is a Naturopathic Doctor in Vancouver, BC, who is a passionate advocate for plant-based nutrition. After seeing remarkable improvements in his own health by adopting a healthier diet, he began learning all he could about the science behind why this diet works so well. Convinced that the evidence is clear, he’s made it his mission to inform as many people as possible that they too can take control of their health. He is a public speaker, author, graduate of the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies Plant-Based Nutrition program, and volunteer for the non-profit Nutritionfacts.org. When not focusing on health and nutrition, he spends his spare time volunteering for The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary in British Columbia where he cares for animals that have been rescued from the animal agriculture industry.
