Overnight Oats

Do you want a nutritious, delicious and filling breakfast in the morning just by opening up the fridge even if you need to eat it on the go?

Well…now you can.

Welcome to the overnight oatmeal revolution!

We decided to share with you the two faves in our house.

Our kids actually created these recipes themselves.

Enjoy!

 

Oatmeal #1 – The Little Girl’s Choice:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or milk of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  • Place all the ingredients in a glass jar
  • Stir
  • Cover and let sit in the refrigerator overnight
  • Top with your favourite fruits or superfood and enjoy!

(She likes bananas and strawberries)

 

Oatmeal #2 – The Big Boy’s Choice:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup cashew milk or milk of your choice
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp cacao powder (or a bit more if you like)
  • Add 1 Tbsp goji berries (optional)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • a pinch of cinnamon

Directions:

  • Place all the ingredients in a glass jar
  • Stir
  • Cover and let sit in the refrigerator overnight
  • Top with your favourite fruits or superfood and enjoy!

(He likes banana, shredded coconut and  cacao nibs)

This recipe can easily be doubled and you can make up your own flavors…super easy and super awesome!
