These changes can result in a variety of symptoms. It's important to note that each woman's experience with perimenopause can vary, and some may have more severe symptoms than others. Here are some common symptoms of perimenopause:

Irregular periods: One of the primary signs of perimenopause is changes in menstrual cycles. Periods may become irregular, with shorter or longer cycles, and you may experience heavier or lighter bleeding.

Hot flashes: Hot flashes are sudden sensations of intense heat that can cause sweating, flushing, and a rapid heartbeat. They typically start in the chest or face and may last for a few seconds to several minutes.

Night sweats: Night sweats are episodes of excessive sweating during sleep. They can be similar to hot flashes and may disrupt your sleep.

Sleep disturbances: Many women experience difficulties with sleep during perimenopause. This may include insomnia, trouble falling asleep, waking up frequently during the night, or having restless sleep.

Mood changes: Hormonal fluctuations can affect your mood. You may experience mood swings, irritability, anxiety, depression, or a decrease in overall well-being.

Vaginal changes: Decreased estrogen levels can lead to vaginal dryness, itching, or discomfort during sexual intercourse. You may also be more prone to vaginal infections.

Changes in libido: Some women may experience a decrease in sexual desire or changes in their sexual response during perimenopause.

Fatigue: Hormonal changes and sleep disturbances can contribute to feelings of fatigue and decreased energy levels.

Changes in cognitive function: Some women report difficulties with memory, concentration, and mental clarity during perimenopause, often referred to as "brain fog."

Physical changes: Perimenopause can be associated with changes in body composition, such as weight gain, especially around the abdomen, and a decrease in breast fullness.
